FAQ:

How are counseling and coaching different?

Counseling often explores emotions and coping skills, past trauma, substance use, depression, and other diagnosed mental health disorders that impact a client's ability to live life to the fullest.

Coaching is a forward-thinking, action-oriented modality focusing on awareness, growth, goal setting, and accountability. Coaching clients are aware and capable of taking steps to improve their lives; a coach's goal is to provide support to enhance the skills, resources, and creativity the client already has.

If you are curious about which area would best serve your needs, please reach out, and let's schedule a free consultation.

Do you take insurance?

Yes, I am an in-network provider for Aetna and United Health Care (Optum).

IS tele-health THERAPY EFFECTIVE?

Research shows that virtual therapy can be equally as effective as in-person treatment for mild depression, anxiety, stress management, and psycho-education-based treatment. It is not, however, suggested for those in crisis, those suffering from suicidal thoughts or complex mental health conditions. During our initial consult, we will discuss the options of in-person or virtual sessions.

Policies:

Phone Calls

You may request a phone session outside of sessions if necessary. Telephone conversations (other than just setting up appointments) are billed at my hourly rate in 15-minute increments.

Confidentuality

I strive to keep you fully informed of every part of your therapeutic experience in accordance with HIPPAA regulations.

Cancellations

In the event that you are unable to keep an appointment, you must notify us at least 24 hours in advance. If such advance notice is not received for a cancellation or schedule change, you will be financially responsible for the session.

Response Times

I am considered an outpatient provider and work with reasonably safe and resourceful individuals. I only return calls during business hours and am not always available. Please inform me if this does not feel like sufficient support, and we can discuss additional resources.

I will return phone calls, texts, and emails within 24-48 hours. However, I do not return calls (or any form of communication) on weekends or holidays. If you are having a mental health emergency and need immediate assistance, please go to your nearest emergency room or call 911.

If you anticipate or desire support outside of regular business hours or between sessions, we are happy to provide resources for a more appropriate level of care.
